New Delhi, October 23, 2026: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming Delhi concert has received clearance from the Delhi Police following discussions over security arrangements, clearing the way for the opening show of his Aura India Tour on October 30.

The concert is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The development comes a day after reports that police had refused permission for the event, citing threat-related inputs and law-and-order requirements during the festive season.

According to a statement by concert organiser BookMyShow Live, the event had not been cancelled. Permission had temporarily been withheld while authorities sought additional safety, traffic-management and crowd-control measures.

The organiser said it held discussions with Delhi Police, presented a detailed security plan and assured the authorities that the required arrangements would be implemented. Permission was subsequently reconsidered and granted.

Diljit Confirms October 30 Show

Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh has continued to promote the Delhi concert on social media. In a promotional post for the Aura India Tour, the singer reiterated the October 30 date and shared a countdown to the event, signalling that preparations were continuing.

The Delhi performance was originally scheduled for November 1 but was moved to October 30 after an appeal highlighting the sensitivities surrounding the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence.

Punjab Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney and the Punjabi Promotion Council had urged the singer and organisers to reconsider the original date out of respect for families affected by the violence.

Why Did the Concert Face a Security Hurdle?

Delhi Police had initially withheld permission, citing specific threat-related inputs and the demands on security personnel during the festive period.

Media reports also linked the concerns to a hoax bomb-threat email sent to several schools in Delhi on October 15. One reported email warned students against attending Diljit’s concert and contained pro-Khalistani slogans.

Police did not publicly disclose detailed information about the threat-related inputs in the permission letter. The subsequent clearance followed discussions between the authorities and organisers over security arrangements.

The initial decision had raised uncertainty among fans, particularly because the Delhi concert was intended to launch Dosanjh’s India tour.

Diljit Warns Fans Against Fake Volunteer Recruitment

Ahead of the concert, Diljit also cautioned fans about fake social media posts claiming to recruit volunteers for the event.

The singer said his team was not recruiting volunteers and urged people not to share personal details, including their names and phone numbers, with unknown pages or organisations.

He warned that such information could be misused and advised fans to remain alert to possible data-collection scams.

Fans should rely on official artist and organiser announcements for event information and use authorised ticketing channels for bookings.
