US Strikes Iran Latest Updates: Reports have emerged confirming fresh US strikes on Iran, open source reporting said. Explosions have been reported across parts of southern Iran amid rapidly escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, with the situation developing rapidly.
US CENTCOM confirmed U.S. forces began striking IRGC targets in Iran at 12 PM ET on September 01. The US military said that recent IRGC attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members in the region prompted these strikes.
Reports said that massive wave of blasts were heard across Qeshm, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Jask, Sirik, and Minab.
A U.S. official told Faytuks Network that U.S. forces conducted precision strikes against targets in Bandar Abbas, Iran, in what the official described as a “defensive” operation.
The reports come just days after the United States carried out a confirmed strike on Iran’s Larak Island, targeting Iranian launchers that Washington said were preparing to deploy mines in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
US Strikes Iran After Attack On Larak island
The Larak Island operation triggered the first direct exchange of attacks between the two sides in roughly a month.
Iran retaliated by launching missiles at two U.S. military bases in Jordan. Reuters reported that nearly all of the incoming missiles were intercepted and there was no significant impact reported at the bases.
U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened further military action against Iran, raising fears that the conflict could once again expand into a broader regional war.

The Strait normally carries a huge share of the world’s oil supply, meaning any prolonged disruption could send energy prices sharply higher.
Brent crude was already trading around $92 a barrel on Tuesday after the renewed US-Iran fighting pushed oil prices higher.
Iran Signals It Is Still Open to a Deal
Despite the military escalation, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran would reciprocate if Washington returns to its commitments under a June memorandum of understanding.
Pezeshkian made the comments at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, indicating that Iran is keeping a diplomatic channel open even as military tensions rise.
At the same time, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said Washington is likely to announce new sanctions targeting Iranian banks this week, adding another layer to the confrontation.
The reported explosions in southern Iran come at a highly volatile moment in the conflict.
